A previous colleague once called me Nanny McPhee — based on that quote — and it stuck.
I do not think it is sad at all. Being there when you are needed, and then watching someone grow to the point where they no longer need you, is not a loss. It is the whole point.
That belief is at the heart of everything StoneLark does.
Who I am
I am Tanya Hasking — founder of StoneLark and the person behind every service it offers.
I have spent more than twenty years working with people, teams and businesses — helping them think more clearly, lead more effectively and build something they are genuinely proud of.
Sixteen of those years have been spent inside the property and lettings industry, working across some of the UK’s most recognised brands, in different markets and at different levels of seniority. I have been involved in numerous acquisitions — on both sides of the transaction — and what I have consistently brought to those processes is a focus on getting the best out of the combination of businesses and people involved, so that the outcome is genuinely stronger than the sum of its parts.
Before my career in business, I competed as an athlete at collegiate level in the United States, completing both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees while performing in a high pressure, high performance environment. That experience shaped how I think about discipline, resilience and what people are truly capable of when the conditions and support are right.
Why I Founded StoneLark
As I grew and matured as a leader, I became increasingly clear about where I add the most value — and what genuinely makes me come alive in my work.
It is not in doing the work for people. It is in being alongside them while they do it themselves — challenging assumptions, strengthening thinking, holding the thread between where they are and where they want to be, and making sure the foundations are strong enough to support everything that comes next.
My greatest satisfaction has always come from watching people exceed their own idea of what good looks like. From delivering projects that streamline organisations and free teams to perform. From bringing businesses together through acquisition in a way that honours what has been built while unlocking something stronger.
StoneLark was founded out of that honest assessment of myself — and out of a genuine belief that with the right support, the right foundations and the right people around you, there is no ceiling on what you can achieve.
